Hyperlipidemia is generally treated with chemical drugs, but the indicators are difficult to "drop". Scientists have tried physical methods, such as the use of polymer gel columns or silica powder to filter plasma, but the cost of such treatments is about 10,000 yuan, and it is not easy to achieve selective filtration. In order to achieve the goal of “low cost, easy production and high efficacyâ€, the research group of Shanghai Organic Institute Cao Amin selected low-cost general-purpose medical non-woven fabrics as the basic materials. Through a series of ingenious transformations, it can specifically screen out the main causes of hyperlipidemia. The bad component, low-density lipoprotein, can also pass through high-density lipoprotein, which helps promote blood circulation.
The nonwoven has an internal pore size between 100 and 5000 nanometers, which is just 5 to 25 times the diameter of the low density lipoprotein, which is best suited for sieving them out. But "blood washing" is more than that simple. Cao Amin and others used the embroiderer to make multiple modifications to the non-woven fabric, and mounted four “catchers†on the surface. These natural substances can easily capture low-density lipoprotein by means of physicochemical and biological effects.
The first "catcher" is acrylic. The non-woven fabric is immersed in its solution, and the non-woven fabric is "plated" with a layer of "polyacrylic film" by irradiation. This not only disinfects, but also makes the non-woven fabric hydrophilic and water-absorbent, which is compatible with blood. More importantly, acrylic acid naturally has a certain negative charge, just like the positively charged low-density lipoprotein “sexually attracts†and “takes it downâ€.
The latter two "catchers" are taken from nature and are easily "bundled" with LDL. Heparin is a kind of bio-polysaccharide. Taurine is an amino acid. It can be chemically bonded to the former “catcher†acrylic. It can be fixed on the non-woven coating film. Low-density lipoprotein is therefore constantly "caught".
In addition, a large amount of cholesterol is placed around the pores of the non-woven fabric as a "bait". They are held by "artificial lines" of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, which are like a small kite, binding the excess cholesterol in the blood. "Partners." Is the material itself stable and will it contaminate the blood?
