American scientists develop new instruments to measure AIDS for 15 minutes

The British "Daily Mail" recently reported that a miniature blood test device with the size of a credit card was introduced. It can detect AIDS within 15 minutes, and the accuracy rate is almost 100%. The blood test device made of plastic, named mChip, was developed by the University of Columbia, USA, and its production cost is only 1 US dollar, which is far lower than any current blood test equipment for AIDS detection. The mChip contains 10 sensory areas and can be diagnosed with HIV virus or syphilis within 15 minutes by simply aspirating a small sample of blood. Similar to the pregnancy test, the blood test device also uses color to identify whether it is negative or positive. mChip chief researcher Dr. Samuel said that using this device is very convenient, "do not need to go to the clinic to do blood tests, it does not take a long time to wait for results."

Pulse Oximeter

Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive and painless test that measures your oxygen saturation level, or the oxygen levels in your blood. It can rapidly detect even small changes in how efficiently oxygen is being carried to the extremities furthest from the heart, including the legs and the arms.

The pulse oximeter is a small, clip-like device that attaches to a body part, like toes or an earlobe. It`s most commonly put on a finger, and it`s often used in a critical care setting like emergency rooms or hospitals. Some doctors, such as pulmonologists, may use it in office.
