Newborn piglet weight insulation

On the evening of January 6, 2009, when a pig farmer in Fushii Town, Fengrun District, Tangshan City delivered food for the sow, due to the cold weather and no effective insulation measures were taken, 5 out of 12 new born piglets died. . Later, under the guidance of local veterinarians, the use of fire-lighting methods increased the temperature in the delivery room, so that the remaining 7 piglets survived safely. Piglets have thin hair, thin skin, and low fat, and lack the ability to regulate their own temperature. Especially new-born piglets are particularly sensitive to changes in temperature. In winter, the temperature is low, and the piglets are obviously not adapted, and the survival rate is easily reduced. For this reason, the author proposes that pig farmers must adopt the necessary cold insulation measures in winter breeding piglets. 1. Build insulation house. Large-scale pig farms should set up special nursery rooms, and newborn piglets must live with sows, which is conducive to a constant body temperature of the piglets. For the pig farmers in the courtyard, the open pigsty must be closed before the winter. 2. Thickening padding. Thickening of dunnage is a traditional way of keeping warm and is used mostly in courtyard pig farmers. The specific method is: Shop 20 cm thick grass on the first day, and then add about 10 cm grass mat the next day, so that the thickness of grass mat is about 30 cm. A 40 cm high turfgrass is nailed on the outside to prevent the grazing grass from spilling in and out of the piglet. In this way, the temperature during the rest of the piglets can be increased by more than 6°C. However, when using this method, we must pay attention to frequent sungrass, timely addition of dry fresh grass, and maintain a dry environment. 3. Boiling heat. Drying is also a relatively traditional measure of warming, commonly used charcoal brazier or stove. However, no matter which method is used, it is best to have special personnel to take care of it. It is necessary to prevent fires and remove harmful gases in the pigsty in time to prevent poisoning. 4. Technology warming. Infrared heat lamp is a commonly used technology warming method. It is to use 150-200 watt infrared light bulbs hanging above the nursery or in the warm room to keep the piglets warm and warm. In this way, the hanging height of the IR heat lamp can be adjusted at any time depending on the desired temperature of the piglet. This method is simple and has good insulation effect. In addition, the large-scale pig farms also use modern technology facilities such as warming plates and far-infrared heating piglets incubators. The effect is very obvious.
