Caragana leaf spot is a common disease that primarily affects the leaves of the plant. The symptoms include small red spots on the leaves, surrounded by yellow circles that gradually expand outward. As the disease progresses, the affected areas may become perforated, leading to premature leaf drop and weakened plant health.
To manage this disease effectively, it's important to focus on improving the overall health of the tree. This can be done through proper care, such as applying organic fertilizers and pruning to promote good air circulation. Strengthening the tree’s resistance is key to preventing outbreaks. One effective method is to spray the new growth with a protective solution. A recommended option is a 1% Bordeaux mixture or a 70% thiophanate-methyl solution diluted to 700–800 times. Adding a new high-fat film can enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. It's advised to apply the spray every 7–10 days, and in severe cases, up to three applications may be needed to control the spread of the disease.
