Composting fermentation technology

Compost fermentation technology, utilizing Golden Baby's fermentation auxiliaries, produces high-quality organic fertilizers that offer a well-balanced and comprehensive nutrient supply for crops. These fertilizers not only provide long-lasting effects but also enhance soil fertility by increasing and renewing organic matter. They stimulate microbial activity, improve water retention, and promote better soil structure. As a result, they play a crucial role in sustainable agriculture, supporting the development of eco-friendly and green agricultural products. The key steps in the compost fermentation process are outlined below: First, site selection is essential. The composting area should be well-lit, flat, and easily accessible to water. Avoid low-lying areas, under trees, or near ditches, as these can hinder proper heat retention and expose the pile to excessive rain, which may reduce efficiency. Second, material preparation is critical. Common raw materials include straw, weeds, yard waste, market refuse, food processing byproducts, and animal manure. It’s important to properly prepare the materials—soak them until you can squeeze out just a little water. Adding a small amount of nitrogen-rich fertilizer, such as urea or ammonium nitrate, can speed up the process. The Golden Baby starter should be added at 1–2 times the recommended rate, depending on the type of materials, ambient temperature, and moisture levels. However, the minimum dosage should never be less than 0.1%. Third, mixing the ingredients thoroughly is necessary. The starter should be diluted with fresh rice bran or cornmeal and evenly mixed into the compost material to ensure even distribution. Fourth, the heap should be built with a height of 70–80 cm, a width of 2–3 meters, and a length based on the quantity of materials. The ideal ambient temperature for fermentation is between 15°C and 20°C. If it's too cold, especially during winter, take measures to warm up the pile before starting. Fifth, turning the pile is an important step. After about 48 hours, the internal temperature will rise to 50°C–60°C, at which point the first turn should be done. Water can be added if needed. After 3–4 turns, the compost will develop a mild ammonia smell and a pleasant fermented aroma. The presence of white fungal threads indicates that the fermentation is complete and the compost is ready for use. This method ensures efficient decomposition, enhances soil health, and supports long-term agricultural sustainability.
