Feed them small, frequent meals to avoid overfeeding or hunger. One effective method is to offer boiled eggs—3–5 eggs per 100 chicks daily, broken into small pieces and distributed evenly. Another option is to mix yeast tablets into the feed: 6–8 tablets per 500 grams of feed, stirred well and fed for 3–5 days to support digestive development and improve nutrient absorption.
Proper care is essential during this critical period. First, maintain clean and hygienic living conditions to prevent disease. Second, administer antibiotics early—such as penicillin diluted 1–2 times, with a dosage of 3,000–5,000 international units per chick. Also, provide a 0.01% potassium permanganate solution as a drinking supplement. Third, isolate and treat any sick chicks promptly. Feeding small amounts of leeks or garlic can help boost their immunity, add essential vitamins, and stimulate appetite.
By following these steps, you can significantly improve the survival rate and overall health of weak chicks.
