About the control of the particle size of the screening machine

What is the screening machine particle size control? It is a common control method in power plants located near rivers, lakes, and other large water bodies, and in industrial facilities that require large amounts of cooling water. Screener particle size control is essential for monitoring rotary screens because it prevents damage to the rotary screen due to excess pressure, which is derived from debris collection in the screen.

The typical cooling system for the application case has at least two sets of rotary screens. When the particle size in a set of screening machines reaches 15cm (7 inches), an alarm will be generated. If the particle size reaches 25 cm (10 inches), the sifter begins to spin and the backwash pump begins to initialize the backwash process to clean all debris collected in the sifter.

The particle size is measured by monitoring the back pressure, which is generated in the sensing line using the regulated gas flow when the water is released. These sensing lines are distributed upstream and downstream of each screening machine.

The flow difference is read by the recorder to monitor the upstream and downstream pressures. The transmitter's output is sent to the recorder so that the operator can get a trend reference, each screen differential value alarm, and automatically start the wash pump. These parameters are entered into the sifter logic via the logger alarm option.
