Silver Bupleurum perennial herb, 20 to 40 cm tall. The main root is cylindrical, 1 to 3 cm in diameter, with a pale yellowish husk, and a lot of verrucous residual stem marks at the top. The stems were erect, the section was obvious, the upper part was dichotomous, and densely covered with short hairs or glandular hairs. Leaves opposite; sessile; stem lower leaves larger, lanceolate, 4 to 30 mm long, 1.5 to 4 mm wide, apex acute, base rounded, entire, green above, sparsely short hairs or few Mao, below light green, short hair. Flowers solitary, pedicels 1–4 cm long; flowers small, white; sepals 5, green, lanceolate, outside with glandular hairs, margin membranous; petals 5, shorter than sepals, apex 2 deeply lobed, lobes oblong Stamens 10, inserted at base of petals, slightly longer than petals; pistil 1, ovary superior, subglobose, styles 3, slender. Capsule subglobose, apically 6-lobed when mature. Flowering from June to July. Fruit period from August to September.
