Home Tour // Shared Gender Neutral Kid’s Room

Happy Monday, everyone! It's been a while since I last shared any updates on our kids' shared room, but we've been making gradual improvements here and there. To start off, we always find it useful to create an inspiration board when planning a room. It's a fantastic way to visualize your ideas and make adjustments as needed without overspending. Even though we're still tweaking certain aspects, I wanted to share how far we've come. Here are some photos of their shared space: ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-4](width="700" height="467.8") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-17](width="700" height="526") *They absolutely adore their individual shelves next to their beds. It’s the ideal spot for placing their nightly cups of water—because apparently, they "need" one every evening.* ![Pallet Bed #PROJECTdecor blog-11](width="700" height="467") Our kids are still loving those pallet beds we crafted for them. They’ve proven incredibly durable and look so fun and creative in a kid's room. Plus, you can't beat the budget-friendly price tag of under $50 for both beds! ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-1](width="700" height="467.8") I must admit, photography really highlights things I hadn't noticed before. For instance, I clearly need to do a better job of hiding cables. ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-3](width="700" height="467.8") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-18](width="700" height="526") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-2](width="700" height="467.8") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-8](width="700" height="467.8") *There's a TV in their room, which I never imagined allowing before having kids. Life sure changes once you become a parent! Although it’s not connected to any service, it serves its purpose during those moments when they want to unwind with their favorite DVDs.* ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-11](width="700" height="467.8") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-9](width="700" height="467.8") I also love the smaller details, like the vintage wooden train passed down from my mom, the beautiful Instagram prints hung by the window, and the string of star lights dangling above their beds—it’s the perfect nightlight. ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-13](width="700" height="467.8") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-5](width="700" height="467.8") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room-14](width="700" height="467.8") Recently, we added an art gallery wall featuring the kids' artwork, a white-washed "Celebrate" sign, corkboards where they can display their latest projects and photos, and a vintage wheel/cloud mobile hanging in the corner. One of my favorite DIY projects has to be the magnetic chalkboard—it’s held up beautifully and quickly becomes the go-to activity for guests during playdates. ![Magnet Chalk Board-12](width="700" height="530") ![Shared Gender Neutral Kids Room](width="700" height="467.8") ![Vintage Wheel Mobile](width="700" height="530") Making these budget-friendly changes and completing a few DIY projects has transformed this room into a cohesive shared space. The previous mishmash of conflicting colors and themes is now a thing of the past. Change is good, isn’t it? Speaking of change, does anyone else have room or home updates on the horizon? How’s it going for you?
