When the ewe is worming

Deworming is one of the contents of sheep management. We cannot "absoluteize" this issue. We must adhere to the principle of concrete analysis of specific issues. According to the description of this issue, we think there are 4 situations:

1. If there is no local parasitic disease or local parasitic disease, it is recommended that the ewes do not need to be dewormed now, and it is best to wait until the end of the lactation period before deworming.

2. If the goat's milk is used for human consumption, it is strictly forbidden to carry out deworming during the goat's lactation.

3. If the local parasitic disease is endemic or higher, and the ewes are not dewormed a few days before giving birth, the ewes now need to be dewormed. Not only that, the lambs that are breastfeeding also need to be dewormed.

4. If the local parasitic disease is endemic or higher, at the same time, the ewes have been dewormed a few days before giving birth. At this time, the ewes and lambs will be immediately dewormed.

When deworming the sheep, it must be segregated.

So why do ewes need to be dewormed a few days before giving birth? This is mainly to prevent the occurrence of "postpartum elevation" of worm eggs in the ewe's excrement after the birth of the lamb so as not to threaten the formation of parasites.

Deworming principle: 1. Ewes during pregnancy should not be deworming in principle, especially the ewes more than 2 months pregnant. 2. The ewes during lactation should preferably not be dewormed under normal circumstances. 3. Under normal circumstances, the deworming time of the sheep is every spring and fall. If necessary, take another medicine bath in the summer. 4. Read the instructions for the different insect repellent medicines before repelling the sheep.
