Don't spray cotton under three kinds of weather

Windy Day

On windy days, the cotton plants are unevenly affected by the wind, which can reduce the effectiveness of pesticide application. To address this issue, it's recommended to use pesticides that have strong absorption and penetration properties. When spraying, the sprayer should be positioned closer to the cotton plants to prevent the mist from being carried away by the wind, which could lead to waste and reduced efficacy. Additionally, the operator should always spray from the upwind side to avoid inhaling the pesticide mist, ensuring both safety and better coverage.

Rainy Days

Spraying pesticides on rainy days can be challenging, as rainwater can wash away the applied chemicals, reducing their effectiveness. In such conditions, it's best to use fast-acting pesticides with strong contact and knockdown effects. After the rain or during a dry gap, consider increasing the concentration slightly while reducing the volume of the solution to ensure even and efficient coverage. Rainwater on the leaves can dilute the pesticide, so applying it quickly and uniformly helps maintain its potency and improve pest control results.

High Temperature Days

On extremely hot days, especially around midday when the sun is strongest, it's important to choose the right type of pesticide. Avoid using light-sensitive or highly toxic products like phoxim. Instead, opt for high-efficiency, low-toxicity, and heat-resistant formulations. When applying, reduce the concentration slightly and increase the volume of the spray to prevent rapid evaporation, which can cause leaf burn and harm the applicator. Spraying during cooler parts of the day is also advisable to maximize effectiveness and safety.
