Hybridization

(2) Binary Progressive Hybridization: Binary Progressive Hybridization. Advantages: It can increase the lean meat ratio. It can be used when the lean meat percentage of sows is too low, and it can also increase the litter size. The disadvantages are: the viability and health level of the hybrids are reduced, and the daily weight gain and feed utilization ratio are also lower than those of the two. The hybrid economy of the Yuan economic hybrid pig is poor.
(3) Hybridization of three varieties: economical hybridization pattern of three varieties. Advantages: generally superior to binary hybridization, especially reproductive performance; disadvantages: complex breeding system.
(4) Two-hybridization: Two-hybrid is the hybridization of hybrids of two species of hybrid boars and two hybrids of hybrid sows to produce hybrid products of pigs. Advantages: Obvious heterosis, small difference in weight of commercial pigs, convenient full-in and full-out factory production methods; Disadvantages: Breeding system is complex and investment is large.
Selection principle of cross parent
(1) The requirements for paternal pig breeds should emphasize the purity of their species, require a high growth rate and performance of feed rewards, and should have outstanding body and body traits, high lean meat percentage, and large meat production volume. Muscle area and thigh ratio are relatively high.
(2) The requirements for maternal pig breeds, in particular, highlight the traits of high fertility, including litter size, number of live piglets, piglet birth weight, piglet survival rate, litter weight at weaning, lactation force, and protection of litter. The traits are all relatively good. Due to the large amount of hybrid maternal pigs, their adaptation to the local environment needs to be emphasized.
