TaiZhiJin High-yield Cultivation Technique

This variety is an early-maturing type, with no vining habit, and has a growth period of 90 to 95 days. The plant height ranges from 40 to 60 cm, with 2 to 5 branches on the main stem, and 8 to 16 leaves per plant. It produces oval-shaped red grains, with a 100-grain weight of 60 to 70 grams. This variety is highly resistant to fertilizer, thrives in dense planting conditions, and has strong adaptability. Its superior quality makes it very popular for foreign trade exports. For plot selection, choose neutral, fertile soil with good drainage. Avoid low-lying areas and do not plant after legumes to prevent nutrient depletion and disease buildup. Sow the seeds in time, selecting healthy, disease-free seeds that show clear characteristics of the variety. Sowing should occur 1 to 2 days before the last frost, when the soil temperature stabilizes at 10°C. The ideal sowing altitude is between 1900 and 2400 meters above sea level, typically between April and June. The recommended sowing rate is 8 to 11 kg per mu, with a sowing depth of 10 to 15 cm. After sowing, water the seedbed thoroughly to ensure good germination. Planting in raised beds or furrows should be done in a rational and dense manner. Maintain a spacing of 30 cm between plants and 40 cm between rows. Each bed should have 2 to 3 seeds, resulting in approximately 5000 to 5500 beds per acre. You can also intercrop with corn or use net seeding methods to optimize space and yield. Apply base fertilizer at planting, using more organic fertilizer such as Da Zheng Jin to enhance fertility. A base fertilizer application of 1500–2000 kg of farmyard manure per mu, along with 30–40 kg of compound fertilizer (including 25 kg of phosphate and 10–15 kg of potash), will provide sufficient nutrients. Apply top dressing during the 4-leaf stage or early flowering stage, using 10–15 kg of compound fertilizer per mu, depending on the crop's needs. Field management includes timely inspection of seedlings after they emerge. Replace any weak or missing seedlings to ensure uniform growth. Once the plants have three true leaves, perform cultivation and weeding to loosen the soil and promote root development. When the seedlings reach about 20 cm in height, cultivate the soil again. During the seedling stage, control underground pests by applying insecticides diluted at a ratio of 1000–2000 times. Harvest the plants when the leaves are fully yellow and the pods have turned brown and are semi-dry. Harvesting too early results in underdeveloped grains with poor color, while harvesting too late may lead to grain discoloration or rot due to rain. Pull up the entire plant, bundle them in small groups, dry them, thresh, and then dry, grade, and store the grains properly.
