Milling machine common fault diagnosis

1. The rice mill is experiencing reduced output, and the main cause is likely excessive feed input, high pressure at the discharge port, or a narrow discharge opening. Additionally, the discharge port may be clogged with rice mash, which can happen due to belt slippage, worn rollers, or damaged rice knives. Other factors include high moisture content in the raw material or wear and looseness in the spiral head.

2. Excessive rice and broken rice in the bran could be caused by a damaged rice screen, gaps in the screen joints, or uneven surfaces on the roller and delivery head. Poor flow from the rice machine, thick rice knives, or incorrect spacing between the roller and knife can also contribute. Inconsistent speed or improper adjustment of the system might be another reason.

3. A sudden surge in current could be due to a broken feed inlet, malfunctioning pressure valve, damaged rice screen, or a broken sieve bracket. Too much foreign material entering the machine, a faulty outlet pressure gate, clogged screens, or issues with the rice platooning system may also lead to this problem. Electrical issues like a blocked power supply can further complicate the situation.

4. If the accuracy of the mill decreases and the surface becomes uneven, it may be due to worn-out knives or insufficient feed input combined with low outlet pressure. These factors can affect the overall performance and quality of the milled rice.

5. Unusual vibrations and overheating bearings are often caused by imbalance in the shaft or pulley, loose anchor bolts, or improper lubrication. Both over-lubrication and under-lubrication can lead to bearing failure, while dirty oil can accelerate wear and tear.

6. Abnormal noises or odors inside the machine may indicate loose or broken rollers, foreign objects trapped inside, damaged bearings or seats, slipping belts, or loosened nuts. Regular inspection and maintenance are essential to prevent these issues from worsening.

Proper maintenance, regular checks, and timely adjustments can help avoid most of these problems. It's important to monitor the machine’s performance and address any signs of malfunction as soon as they appear to ensure smooth operation and high-quality output.
